Stuffs.

I’m going to resume sorting out my photography tomorrow, or later perhaps. I’m working on Chapter 3 of Memoria right now…since chapter 1 and 2 have been quite popular on DA. My last novels were almost completely ignored on my other account, but this one seems to be a big hit. Besides, I’m frequently checking them over and improving them, and I’ve not really needed to do much in the way of improvements just yet, wheras some of my older work really needs to be re-written.

Well, yeah. Today has gone pretty well. I’ve been submitting various things to DA, and have spent about a third of the day painting the front cover to Memoria, deciding that I’d have it black and white, and should give Matt a wing. I’ll have to explain the purpose of that in the novel somewhere of course…and I completely aimed to. I’m not sure if I should use the wing as a metaphor, or just rather a literal interpretation. We’ll see how it goes first.

Oh yeah. At the moment, all of my stuff is loading reeeeeaaally slow on here, because of the size. I’ll sort that tommorow. My computer isn’t behaving at the moment, so I wont even bother right now.

So yeah. I’ll be typing chapter 3, and perhaps painting a character page for Matt on and off.

Oh Noes! IE.

It’s come to my immediate attention (alright, I lie. I’ve only just noticed now) that this website 100% fails in IE. Well, I’ll probably have a little rant about that later on tonight, and try to get it fixed…but until then you’ll just have to view it in firefox. ^^;

Hopefully this isn’t a problem for anyone…but hey, it’s free to download, and it has tabs. ROFL. What do you have to lose?

Oh yes, a quick update. I’ve started putting up my novel on DeviantArt now…I’m just thinking of a way to get it up onto here…

Moons of Mars

Matt: ID

Right. So I’ve finally got my site up. It’s been a few days of planning and design work since I actually obtained the domain…and a hell of a lot of time thinking up the name itself…But finally its here. (Surprisingly enough, the name itself wasn’t my idea…neither was the layout. I simply put my work to it. XD But it still turned out pretty well, I have to say.)

This is my first post, so I’m not really sure what to put here. But obviously most of you will most likely know me from DeviantArt, (where by the way, I recently obtained 10k views XD) as ‘Skye-of-Cydonia’. I’ll be posting up my best works, digitally and most likely traditionally, along with my various novels/prose and such here, for people to look at and read, in case they happen to be slightly obssessed, or just generally interested in the world of Muse.

Oh yes, and the creation of this site. I’ll go into a little detail about that, and elaborate a little more on that rant I gave in my DA journal (if I can.) Well, the layout wasn’t really the nightmare for me, since that was all down to my brother. My problem was the graphics, not the coding. You see, the creation of such a complexly laid out design (with all of the transparancy layers as dividers, and underlaying art) without the ability to save the layers uncompressed is quite a nightmare, especially with a million things running at once, and iTunes frequently slowing down your work – and no, I couldn’t turn it off. Art doesn’t happen without music. I did end up, of course, losing everything – my best design work. Out of absolute shock and fury, I did it again, having a deadline to meet, but a lot simpler; choosing the easier way out with GIMP, rather than the more complicated way I first went for with the background behind the band. After I’d spent from 2pm, until about midnight working on it, it was finally complete. Ironically it’s took a further four hours for my brother to plan out the CSS for me, so that I can post on here. (I refused to post with only the basic ‘K2 Theme’)

Well, the worst part is behind me of course. As for my brother, he still has to clean up the nightmare CSS file, since it took us all that time just to do the rough copy. (Hence why this site might not look so grand in IE. Just don’t use IE. We all know firefox is better anyway.) But I do think he did a pretty good job on it, since all I’d given him was the header, and he had to pretty much do everything else he could, working around the Wordpress design. (It may seem easy, but I don’t really think it is at all. It looked really complex. Besides, it’s not as if Wordpress makes life easier with the layout designing. It’s more for easy posting, being a sort of Forum. Designing still has to be done with the standard CSS/HTML format, as always.

But yeah. This is most likely the first non-procrastinating thing I’ve done for a long time. I wont bore you right now with a long list of my future projects, but you’ve been warned – I might do that later just to keep a reference and checklist for myself. Although actually, this ‘finally finished project’ has taken me a good two years to put into action…since then the concept has pretty much evolved rapidly. I aimed to have this as just a Matt fansite, but that idea didn’t seem to be very productive, with me not being one for writing long biographies, even if they are of Mr. Bellamy.

Anyhow, I suppose I should be off, trying to figure out this whole ‘Image-sizing/thumbnail viewing’ mystery on here.

Ciao.
