Well, I know I haven’t posted much on here in a while…so I figured I probably should. I’ve had a lot of coursework to get out of the way (mostly IT, which seemed to consume any chance I had to make art
Due to being graphic-based itself) and a lot of preperation for work experience and such…so I’ve been unable to get on here and do some cleaning up. Although one thing has changed my mind about that: Flash.
I tried to learn how to use it a while ago, and figured that it was really complicated; something that I’d probably never grasp…but since then I’ve been motivated by the rare 20 minutes of free time I’ve actually had, to re-install it and start practising. As you can imagine, not a lot has changed. It’s still complicated; and I still don’t really get it. Well, it made a lot more sense as I was flicking through the book; but the actual keyframe inserting started to get a bit tedious, and I never really finished what I started. Instead; I noticed something better that I can use it for; lineart. Having lost the pen to my graphics tablet, and wanting to start learning; I’ve been a bit restricted with just a mouse. I’m planning on getting one from PC World in the near future, but for now I’m having to cope with a mouse alone. Because of that, the “pencil” tool within flash has come to be quite useful. It automatically straightens lines as you draw them, to make them less shaken, and more professional.
I spend last night scanning through quite a few programs, trying to work out which was best for lineart; and flash kept coming out on top (even over Adobe Illustrator CS3, which was a bit of a nightmare at times). So with that, I’ve started to use flash/GIMP as a drawing and colouring combination. It’s making the creation of WIP records much easier too <3 I might find that a tablet could be a better option for colouring, but at least I’ve found an alternative solution for now; one which has enabled me to do much neater vectors; and experiment in the ways of colouring lineart; rather than just my usual realism portraits.

I’ve not been here in ages, I know. What’s also strange is the lack of art I’ve been uploading and such. Well don’t fear. I have a valid reason (or as I should probably note is more common with me, ‘excuse’.)
You see, I’ve been flicking between watermarks and such, and have finally settled on one now that doesn’t look as messy as the whole feather fiasco. But the only crisis is, uploading and adjusting every file on here. I’ve started, don’t get me wrong. But I might do it gradually. I mean, Wordpress is great and all, but the file interface is a bit frustrating at times. Especially with the fact that I’m always updating and modifying my work. That gets a bit irritating too.
So down to the actual purpose of not uploading much more art (other than that) on deviantART also. Coursework and exams I guess. I have to revise everything I’ve done this year under my own orders, because I think I should…alongside finishing off some adjustments to RE essays and doing a hell of a lot of coursework in Art. I have english exams next week on Monday and thursday; and a maths exam on the 12th…so I’m pushing myself educationally as much as possible. I might go back to digital media for a while because of this, but I’ll still be making DN fanart. I can’t help myself. I’ll just be painting the movie characters rather than the manga characters. Not that there’s much of a difference with L though. (lmao) Until a while though, there’s a new one below that I just did in 2 hours. XD

So yeah. Sorry about disseappearing on everyone for two weeks, but we’ve changed ISP (thank god) so it was sort of worth the wait. And I did happen to get a lot of stuff done in half term without the internet there as a distraction. (Although waiting for all of my DN stuff did take at least a whole day out of my time, waiting for the mail man in the window upstairs. ROFL.) Notebook is still yet to come…I’m looking forward to that. ^^
And in novel news, I’ve started writing many a chapter plan for book 3. I know I also sort of cut myself dead with Memoria, but I really want to do a chapter in book 3 before I continue…so I wouldn’t expect anything too soon. I’ll get around to it eventually, but you have to understand that that is what I like to call one of my ‘fury written’ books. It’s sort of carved by my rage for not being able to work on book 3. (It’s sort of a long, emotional explanation that I really can’t be bothered to announce right now…but just trust me when I say that once chapter 12 is over, I KNOW I’ll be motivated.)
