It’s occured to me how terrible and how delayed I am at making these blog posts. It’s almost like I forget about my own website’s existence for months or weeks at a time. That’s now how it is though, I assure you. I guess I’m just busy with a million and one things. And there’s something eerie about talking to yourself like this. It’s like writing in a diary. And I always found that a little weird, too.

In recent news…hell yes, I’m on my Foundation physics course, and I’m stuck in this emotional mixture of euphoria and uncertain delusion. I can’t explain it, but, it’s not really important. I’m enjoying the course, and I’m finally doing one of the two subjects I love.

On the subject of other things…I’m really missing philosophy. I might go crazy and buy a bunch of books or something. I need something to keep my mind sharp. Oh! And the novel is going great. 1 chapter away from finishing the first draft. And that’s the first actual draft. Not like, the 50 different versions I did when I was trying to perfect the plot. I think people will find it to be quite weird…but…I’m a weird person, so, I suppose it just represents that in some way. I’ve been looking into ISBNs, but, that seems to be a bit chaotic and badly explained…so, I’m not sure if it’s one of those ‘buy 10 ISBNs now, assign them later’ things, or if I have to have 10 things to assign them to before I request them. Sometimes I wish I was American. They can buy one at a time. That’s so much easier.

Anyhow, going to ask a few people about that. So many people self-publish, there’s got to be a way around it. Trying to figure out a cover idea, too…and the name, despite its weird idea, is sorted. So, just the final touches and such now.

Progress! <3 Awesome, incredibly delayed progress.

I’m actually doing pretty well on the novel. If I keep going at this rate, the first draft should be done before I start university. Which means I can start planning the next one…maybe start that in Christmas holiday. Although this one will need some fine tuning, that’s nothing compared to actually writing it. There’s no way in hell I could write it during the semester.

Anyhow, yeah – there’s another piece of news. I’m on my course. Although I’m still certain that they marked my Philosophy papers poorly again, I’m not going to challenge it yet. I can’t risk them marking me down, and the last thing I want is to lose my place because of that. I’m thinking about resitting though. I mean, me, getting a C on any philosophy paper? Isn’t that the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard?

Well, maybe not ever. But it’s up there.

Anyhow, another little side-project I started…which I probably should have done during my whole “nervous bit” of the holiday…Full body character portraits! I only have two done at the moment and I’m actually painting the third on my laptop right now. I’d weighed up the decision to either start doing more art, or to add old stuff/clean up the gallery on here…since both are pretty large tasks…and I guess I chose the art, when I realised that I hadn’t submitted anything new to DeviantART in forever. So, for the time being, if anyone’s wanting to see anything new; I’d check out HERE; because I wont be tidying up on here for a while. With that said, hopefully, by the time I do start tidying, I’ll be able to start the whole purpose of these portraits – a novel site.

It’s a nightmare, getting everything to come together. I mean technically, I need to draw the characters to write the novel/get their voices and personalities right. But as I don’t really have a clue what some of these characters look like, I need to write the novel before designing them so I can get an overall gist of what they should look like. Logical paradox anyone?

Seems like everything is resting on these portraits, and me finishing my writing. Hopefully, if I can get a good percentage of that done in September, I’ll be on my way. Portraits will definitely take a lot longer, given that it takes on average 1.5 days to do one portrait (1 day if I’m lucky) and that I have 60+ characters.

Maybe I’d be better off leaving the worrying until later. <3

Srsly. I’m overwhelmed by everything right now. I managed to finish the “plan document” of each chapter of my novel, but I’ve barely had two seconds spare to write any of it. When I do get the chance, at about 2am, I’m too exhausted to sneak in a few words, and having to get up early doesn’t make it any easier. I had today off from work, which was neat…except, I’ve spent the whole day painting a huge canvas for my father, and that’s not really something I can do relentlessly, without a break. Sitting in one place for hours is, well, not pleasant.

On the up side, I’ve also been working on my room…so we’ll be doing another coat of paint at the weekend, and laying the carpet down whenever a door is fitted (still not sure what’s going on with that). Maybe when my room is all finished, I’ll have the chance to sit and play dominoes or Cubilete or something. Or better still, I could just sit and write.

I wish I had more internet time. Hell, I only found out what the whole ‘double rainbow’ thing was about yesterday! >:

Maybe next week I’ll be free to change things on here and sort stuff out. Maybe then, I can start my early take on NaNoWriMo, and get my novel finished in August. <3 And, of course, that wedding portrait I started a week ago.

Dude. I haven’t posted on here in AGES. Right?

Sorry about that. I’ve been caught up in a lot of things – revision, exams, university stuff. …Ebay.

And Lost. Can’t forget Lost. I’m already wishing away my week off, just to get Episode 4. Srsly. Flashsideways is a terrible idea, if they do what I think they’re going to do and pull a “And the alternate reality becomes reality” bit…which let’s face it, if they’re running with that ending, they might as well make Jack wake up and call it a dream. (Dallas, anyone?)

That aside, I’m eager to find out what happens in the next episode. I’m grateful that they juxtaposed a Locke episode after a torturous hour with Kate, though. God, I hate her character.

Anyhow. Not a lot going on at the moment. More revision to do…a biology EMPA to think about; and J.S. Mill’s “On Liberty” to read over. Knowing me, I’ll procrastinate and pick up where I left off with Sartre.

Or the less productive (for education purposes) plan. The novel.

Oh sure, I’ve done about 50 different drafts now…and none of them are quite what I’m looking for…but at least I learn an awful lot with every draft. I can now honestly say that I have my main character’s personality perfected – to the point where, if I were a 36-year old Cuban man, I might be able to pull off a convincing Rico and seriously creep people out at my overly vague nature. As for the plot…that’s under the knife at the moment. I’m trying out a few things, and it’s going quite well. Once I realised that sky pirates weren’t really compatable with a terraformed world of bizarre ordeals, I think things started to work a little better.

In the spirit of talking about writing…I’m going to go and do just that. <3 Adios.
