Progress! <3 Awesome, incredibly delayed progress.
I’m actually doing pretty well on the novel. If I keep going at this rate, the first draft should be done before I start university. Which means I can start planning the next one…maybe start that in Christmas holiday. Although this one will need some fine tuning, that’s nothing compared to actually writing it. There’s no way in hell I could write it during the semester.
Anyhow, yeah – there’s another piece of news. I’m on my course. Although I’m still certain that they marked my Philosophy papers poorly again, I’m not going to challenge it yet. I can’t risk them marking me down, and the last thing I want is to lose my place because of that. I’m thinking about resitting though. I mean, me, getting a C on any philosophy paper? Isn’t that the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard?
Well, maybe not ever. But it’s up there.
Anyhow, another little side-project I started…which I probably should have done during my whole “nervous bit” of the holiday…Full body character portraits! I only have two done at the moment and I’m actually painting the third on my laptop right now. I’d weighed up the decision to either start doing more art, or to add old stuff/clean up the gallery on here…since both are pretty large tasks…and I guess I chose the art, when I realised that I hadn’t submitted anything new to DeviantART in forever. So, for the time being, if anyone’s wanting to see anything new; I’d check out HERE; because I wont be tidying up on here for a while. With that said, hopefully, by the time I do start tidying, I’ll be able to start the whole purpose of these portraits – a novel site.
It’s a nightmare, getting everything to come together. I mean technically, I need to draw the characters to write the novel/get their voices and personalities right. But as I don’t really have a clue what some of these characters look like, I need to write the novel before designing them so I can get an overall gist of what they should look like. Logical paradox anyone?
Seems like everything is resting on these portraits, and me finishing my writing. Hopefully, if I can get a good percentage of that done in September, I’ll be on my way. Portraits will definitely take a lot longer, given that it takes on average 1.5 days to do one portrait (1 day if I’m lucky) and that I have 60+ characters.
Maybe I’d be better off leaving the worrying until later. <3
